What this tool does

Enter a filename, extension, or MIME type to find known mappings in the local registry dataset. Extension lookup is not file-content detection, so use the linked file-type checker when you need to inspect bytes.

How to use it

  1. Enter or import the content you want to process.
  2. Choose the required options and run the tool.
  3. Review the output and limitations, then copy or download it.

Capabilities and limitations

Mappings come from the bundled registry version. An extension can have multiple mappings and cannot prove a file’s actual bytes, safety, or content.
