Image Compressor: A Step-by-Step Guide
Our Image Compressor helps you reduce the file size of your images, making them load faster on websites and easier to share. This guide explains how to use it effectively.
Step 1: Upload Your Image
Drag and drop your image file (JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, etc.) into the designated area, or click to browse and select a file from your device. The tool will immediately display a preview of your original image.
Step 2: Adjust Compression Quality
Use the quality slider to find the perfect balance between file size and visual quality. A lower quality setting results in a smaller file size. The output format is determined automatically for best results: JPG, PNG, and WEBP files will keep their original format. GIFs and other formats that support transparency will be converted to PNG. All other formats will be converted to JPG.
Step 3: Compress and Download
Click the "Start Compression" button. Once the process is complete, you can review the savings for each image and click the "Download All" button to save a zip file of your optimized images.
Compression Tips
- 💡For web graphics, converting to WEBP format often provides the best balance of quality and file size.
- 💡For photographs, a JPEG quality of 75-85 is usually a good starting point.
- 💡If your image has transparency (like a logo), make sure to keep the PNG format or convert to WEBP, as JPEG does not support transparency.
